Two fillings!
Had my bi-annual dentist appointment yesterday, and the dentist found two small decay spots, one in my upper right jaw, and one in my lower right jaw. So I went back today have the two little cavities drilled out, and my dentist gave me the option to have it done with or without, Novacaine. I've always been numbed out for procedures in the past, and since the spots were small, I opted to forgo the drug this time. To his and my great pleasure, both teeth were drilled, filled and polished without any fuss at all. The most I felt were a few tiny twinges when he hit a sensitive spot, but they were nothing compared to the nasty chemical smell (and taste) of the gunk he used to fill the holes in. Blecch! But all things considered, it was a very successful trip, and I'm feeling quite empowered by it! Two cavities repaired, and no pain or numbness to contend with. Ahhh.
Of course, he used that white polymer stuff to plug them up, and the last time I had that put in, the tooth ached constantly for three days. Say what you will about toxic metal fillings, they never gave me trouble like that white one did, but hopefully these are small enough that I won't be troubled. Have to see what tomorrow brings. For now, Boo-ya!
