Welcome to the Fascist States of America...
...if either of these two things become law:
Southern Republicans want to spy on your (yes, YOUR) online habits to PROTEKT TEH CHILDRENS.
And, Vehicular Mileage Tax! Who doesn't want the government to monitor your travel via satellite and charge you for it, plus extra if you drive an old car! I KNOW I DO.
The thing is, the logical part of me totally agrees with this. (Probably because the logical part of me is pretty much a closet fascist socialist.) But, damn it, this is America and the prospect of having to live with this kind of oversight just outrages me. Luckily, the first one has been proposed and defeated before, and the second has already been shot down by the Feds. (But the states sure are eager to try it.)
